Baterial evaluation in 5,300-year-old iceman Otzi

Scientist evaluating the 5300 year old iceman mummy, popularly called as Otzi ( (after the nearby Ötztal Valley), evaluated  his stomach for DNA and they found some came from Ã–tzi himself, and some from the animals and plants in the food he ate before he died. And some, it turned out, came from H. pylori.  

We always keep contemplating whether modern illness like ulcers and H.Pylori are recent addition or were they present in ancient man as well. This discovery has far reaching implications on our understanding about ancient microbiomes
