Medullary Nephrocalcinosis-Plain Film

Nephrocalcinosis was a termed coined by Albright in 1934 to describe the deposition of calcium salts in the renal parenchyma in hyperparathyroidism.

Causes of medullary nephrocalcinosis: 

  1. Hyperparathyroidism
  2. Medullary sponge kidney
  3. Tuberculosis of the kidneys
  4. Renal tubular acidosis
  5. Milk-alkali syndrome
  6. Sarcoidosis
